Course Content

During the first term, you will be exploring cutting edge techniques for animation and games. This will include reality capture for virtual reality, traditional animation styles using modern animation methods and set design for animation and games.

In the second term, you will learn about concept art and character design and will design, build and animate a 2D game character.

In the final term, you will learn about game design. This will involve learning how to code for games as well as combining all of your previously learned skills to create a gaming experience for a mobile device.

You will be taught by lecturers with a wealth of current industry experience as well as visiting industry professionals. Our animation studio is equipped with current industry standard software and equipment as well as other resources such as a 3D printer, a drone and Occulus Rift systems for you to use.

You will be expected to make the most of the resources available to you, engaging in a professional and challenging studio learning environment to create an innovative and technically impressive portfolio of work.

Course Format

Term 1:

Reality Capture, virtual reality, character animation and set design.

Term 2:

Concept art for animation and games, character design and 2D Animation.

Term 3:

Game design and coding for mobile devices.
